Swine influenza (aka flu) is a contagious respiratory disease that affects, and has common outbreaks with, pigs. It is caused by a type-A influenza virus. The current Swine strain that it has the WHO at a pandemic alert 4, appears to be new with a variation of the H1N1 virus – a mix of human and animal versions.
